PRIORITY AREAS
Communication
ACSA will strive to improve communication both externally and internally including public relations
in all facets of the Association’s work.
Diversity
ACSA has adopted a strategic plan to increase the diversity of our membership and our leadership, to
more closely match the makeup of the student population we serve.
Leadership
ACSA will build and support administrators through ACSA services and ACSA’s Leadership Matters
Campaign.
Leadership Coaching
ACSA will implement a statewide program of leadership coaching, beginning with new administrators
and based on our successful work with the UCSC New Teacher Center, to be phased in over the next
five years.
Learning and Teaching
ACSA will focus on learning and teaching as the foundation of education through strong curriculum
and instruction, assessment and accountability, and improving state and local efforts to close the
achievement gap.
School Finance
ACSA will focus on achieving adequate resources for our school system, commensurate with the
standards and expectations for student achievement.
